The old Name of our Province was Rhineland or Rhenania
Historically Rhenania is one of the oldest Regions in Germany
It once was part of the Roman ProvinceGermania Inferior
And in the Middle Ages it was Center of theSacrum Imperium
In modern days the whole Area around the City ofAachen
Belongs to the German Part of theEuregio Maas-Rhein
In my Youth (70's and 80's) the State of North Rhine-Westphalia
Was thePolitical and EconomicalCenter ofWest Germany
( Surrounded by History, many of us turn into Hobby-Historians )
