JOSEPH BEUS
was a leading Figure of the
68' Revolution
in
West Germany
.
His wholistic Concept of Art included Science, Technology, Philosophy and Spirituality.
It was based on Duchamp's Conceptual Art and on the Philosophy of the 68' Revolution.
In my youth (70s & 80s) J. Beuys was one of our local Heros in
North Rhine-Westphalia
,
The most Scandalous Professor of Arts the
Kunstakademie Düsseldorf
ever had.
(They had to fire him to Re-Conquer the Academy and get the Students under Control again)
Düsseldorf City
ist the Capital of my Home Province
North Rhine-Westphalia
.
It is located at the
River Rhine
and only about 50 Kilometers East of my Hometown.
Therefore most of our Art-Teachers were Fans of BEUS and some had been his Students.
In the 70s and 80s they told us at average german Middle-Schools that everything can be Art
With the basic Concepts of Duchamp and Everyone can be an Artist with the basic Concepts of Beuys.
But I bet that's not what they are telling them today ....
